Web Development Tools
September 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment
As a Web Developer, there are so many tools to be used when developing a website. Basically, a web developer started to learn using manual method (Notepad). And its very important to know the basics of html/css. I’ve learned web development through this website www.w3schools.com when I was in College in De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. I took the quiz about html and css and then made a simple static webpage.
Today, I’m using a tool that is fast and easy to use web development tools like ASP.net, Dreamweaver, and Joomla!. My favorite at the moment is joomla because there are so many plugins on the web that I can use and add to my Joomla! website. And what is nice with this Joomla! is.. it’s FREE! No need to pay, you can modify also the codes to satisfy your needs.
Now, I am making our own web development framework which is similar to Joomla!. Install/Uninstall plugins, etc… but it’s very hard in the phase 1 (the starting point). I’m using Microsoft’s ASP.net for this. Hopefully, I can finish this because we wil use this in our project Hospital Web Based Information System.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
September 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment
If you are web developer, you must be aware of this. If you developed a website, make it sure that this website can easily search in all search engine sites like google, yahoo, and etc. This is every important because if your website is good or nice designed but the user cannot see the resut in the first page of google, your website seems to be useless. No matter how beautiful your website is, your website must be at least in the first page of the result when searching something.
Before, we are just relying using Meta Tags. But now, we are using some softwares to generate the tags of the content and also revise the url address.
Here are some tips on how your SEO works:
- The title of the content must be Bold. I’ve heard that google crawler can read easily with this. Also, not just in title you must bold some words in your content, if there some special word/s, make it Bold too. Ex. I am Byron Regodon, a Filipino Programmer and Web Developer in Lucena City. I bold the words like Filipino Programmer and also the Web Developer. Because these are the common words that are using when searching a programmer/web developer in the search engines.
- Put a description and title in your images. If your website have many images, you must include the description and title of each images on your website. Google Crawler can also read the descriptions of the images that helps your SEO works.
By the way, do you know this Google Crawler? It is GoogleBot, which finds and retrieves pages on the web and hands them off to the Google indexer. To understand more about this GoogleBot or GoogleCrawler click here. You will learn also how google search works.
So, I hope this article helps for your website.

September 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Wow.. Joomla! it’s your 3rd birthday cheers! heheh! and then you released again a new version 1.5.7 security release. so your empowering your security techniques to avoid hackings. i remember the first time i used you, if i’m not mistaken, last december or january, i was “bano” hehe cos it’s very easy. and then i keep exploring about you until i can make a website using your framework. and then my first developed website is our company website Q-tech BPO. back then, i keep on exploring, testing the plugins (components, modules, mambot, etc.) and then searching for a good template that i will use for any websites. what’s the worse for me is modifying php codes, i’m not a php programmer really, but if i will read the code i can understand it anyway.
anyways, i will go now. and again happy birthday! more birthdays to come, more plugins to develop, and more Joomla developers to come. cheers again! \\O.o//
